C8 Corvette 5VM Dry Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers : 2020 - 2024 C8 Corvette, Z51, Z06, E-Ray
Dry carbon fiber is manufactured by utilizing a pre-preg or impregnated sheet of carbon materials. The sheet is initially inserted into a mold and then placed in a sealed vacuum for proper curing. This method produces minimal waste and results in a lighter version of carbon compared to the "wet" method. The vacuuming process also reduces the formation of pinholes and air pockets in the carbon. Dry carbon is considered the premium grade of carbon fiber products, although it is 3 to 4 times more costly to produce than the wet method.
